I work in a small business that has State Health Care Continuation Coverage premium rights under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Our terminated employee is being covered under this act since March of 2009. We (ex-employee and the business) have been paying the total premium. Every month I have been informed by Humana that we would see a credit for 65% of the premium that is subsidized. Each month I have not seen the credit. Today I have been told we will not see that credit until October 2009. I feel this is totally unfair. The insurance company is getting the full amount of the premium plus the government subsidy. That is a lot of money to be sitting on and earning interest. We only have one employee, but what about the company that has more than one. In this economy small businesses do not have the extra money to be paying out while big corporations sit on your money.
Was this truly how you thought that this recovery act would work and be in everyone’s best interest?
In my opinion it is not working.

Dear Barack:
I am writing to you about the issue of Don’t ask Don’t Tell. I am hoping that you will make a commitment to get this law repealed. I am so disappointed that I am watching people that have served our country now getting kicked out of the armed forces they unselfishly served. Reason being - they have admitted to being gay. This is a travesty and needs to be changed immediately. This is all about their individual rights.
Thank you and I welcome your response.
