Our Process

TransparencyandAccountability.org offers you the vehicle to stay involved in the process. The current Administration developed a website: recovery.gov offering the the transparency of legislation. “Once it is passed every American will be able to go to the website and see how and where their money is being spent.” [Emphasis added] We applaud this effort. Also, in addressing Transparency and Accountability, the website recovery.gov quotes a February 9, 2009 memorandum to our government’s Head of Departments and Agencies that states:

“We cannot overstate the importance of this effort. We are asking the American people to trust their Government with an unprecedented level of funding to address the economic emergency. In return, we must prove to them that their dollars are being invested in initiatives and strategies that make a difference in their communities and across the country. Following through on our commitments for accountability and openness will create a foundation upon which we can build as we continue to tackle the economic crisis and the many other challenges facing our nation.”

However, don’t we all want to know what is involved and how it will affect us before it is passed? We think so.

TransparencyandAccountability.org will utilize technology and security that enables its members to communicate in “bundled” groups that will be categorized based upon an issue and your respective position. These will be sent electronically, on a timely basis to the current Administration, Your Senators, and Your House Representatives. The interactive site will be available for brainstorming and act as a platform for inspiring creative, innovative thinking about how we want our government to operate. Most importantly, our staff will read every communication posted on the secure Let Your Voice Be Heard page to assure it complies with our Policy Statement while insuring your Representatives receive your messages.

We will follow these “bundled” communications to confirm they have been received. With permission (and we will request that permission) we will post their responses on our website www.TransparencyandAccountability.org. This will enable our membership (as well as other visitors) to view the numbers of, and your positions relating to the communications on issues you submitted that solicited your  Representatives’ responses. This process offers the opportunity of increasing membership in our organization while creating a greater number of participants becoming engaged in our governing process.
