If you are fortunate enough to have health insurance, and many that do, say they are “happy” with their current health care coverage. Just wait!

Yesterday received a letter from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (our provider). Rates going up 20% six (6) weeks from today.

Why? “You have moved into a new age and premium category”. Is this not discrimination?

The response from the provider: “Everyone gets this increase in your age group, not just you. You can lower your cost by electing  a different policy.” This “Different Policy” translates to less coverage by increasing deductibles and lowering the amount of coverage available.

These companies are using any justification possible to increase rates in anticipation of what might come out of Washington. This is not only pathetic, but just plain wrong!

It’s time Congress quit playing political games with OUR health and OUR lives and get Health Care Reform done!
